Violent Night: Two Dead, One Injured In Separate Overnight Baltimore Shootings, Police Say

Two men are dead and a third was hospitalized overnight as police investigate separate shootings in Baltimore that happened within three and a half hours of each other, according to detectives.

The night of violence began shortly before 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, when Northeast District officers from the Baltimore City Police Department responded to the 1500 block of Havenwood Road to investigate a reported shooting that had just taken place.

Upon arrival, officers said they found a 22-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the body, and a 56-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head, reportedly at a gas station near the Northwood Commons Shopping Center.

Paramedics treated both at the scene and transported each to area hospitals, where the 56-year-old man - whose name has not been released - was pronounced dead from his headshot.

Hours later, at approximately 11:10 p.m. on Sunday night, officers in the Southern District were dispatched to the 3900 block of South Hanover Street for a second reported shooting, according to police.

There, officers found a 26-year-old man, who also has not been identified, with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Baltimore City paramedics.

According to police, homicide detectives responded to the second shooting, though they have not identified a suspect and know of no known motive.

Both fatal shootings remain under investigation.
